Crystal Maiden mid isn't extremely strong but it's not terrible. She doesn't scale very well against single targets like a hero like Lina can, but she scales extremely well in teamfights and aoe damage.
Your build should be a null talisman to start, and then transitioning into a Blink, followed by BkB. Once you complete the BkB, you can kill just about any immobile hero that doesn't have a bkb of their own, or massive physical damage, because you can initiate and frostebite, bkb, and ult.
You should do this repeatedly just to force kills and continue your snowball. This build only works if fighting happens on the map, and it should require you to force fighting sometimes.
If you aren't using your BkB to get kills, you will get outcarried by other mid heroes.
This build is most countered by bkb semi carries like Shadow Fiend, because they'll simply right click you down in the mid game, so this was a pretty ideal game for CM mid, which was why I randomed her.
